Good help is hard to find

Any business owner or manager knows the struggle: good help is hard to find. Finding team members who are consistent, even-tempered, and genuinely kind can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack.

But did you know that God experiences this exact same “labor shortage” in His Kingdom?

It’s true. Finding people who are steadfast and faithful is difficult, even for God Himself. Jesus spoke about this clearly in Matthew 9:37-38 (ESV):

”Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.'”

He didn’t just notice a lack of workers; He noticed a lack of enduring faith. In Luke 18:8 (ESV), after promising that God will bring justice to His people, Jesus asks a sobering question:

”Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

Whether in the marketplace or in ministry, the need is the same. Let’s pray earnestly for good workers to be sent into the world, and more importantly, let’s make sure that we are the faithful, consistent, and kind laborers God is looking for today.
