What does God want from us?

God has taken me to more than 20 nations to share the Gospel. I’ve stood in bustling global cities and quiet, remote villages. I have looked into the eyes of people from vastly different cultures, and in that time, I have seen the absolute best and the heartbreaking worst of mankind.
We live in a world that often feels chaotic, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed wondering, “What is it that God actually wants from us?”
Amidst the noise of our modern world, the prophet Micah delivers an instruction from God that cuts through the confusion. It remains as piercingly true today as the very day it was written thousands of years ago:
”He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” — Micah 6:8 (ESV)
God doesn’t ask us to overcomplicate our faith. The mandate is profoundly simple, yet it requires a daily surrender:
1 – Do Justice: Stand up for what is right. Defend the vulnerable and bring God’s righteous order into the spaces you influence.
2 – Love Kindness: Not just to tolerate kindness, but to passionately pursue it. Extend the same extravagant grace to others that Jesus has extended to us.
3 – Walk Humbly: Keep your heart bowed. Remember who sits on the throne. We are simply vessels of His incredible love.
No matter where you are in this beautiful world today, His instructions haven’t changed. You don’t need a complicated formula to please God today.
Act justly, love kindness / mercy, and walk humbly with God.
