Have Life and Have It More Abundantly

In this episode of the podcast, Tim and I dive into chapter one of his book, The Benefits of Jesus’ Sufferings, titled “Have Life and Have It More Abundantly.”

Together, we unpack a truth that many believers miss: Jesus’ passion accomplished far more than just our forgiveness and a ticket to heaven. While those are foundational, many Christians miss out on the present-day, earth-side benefits that are available to us right now through Christ.

Our Identity as Joint Heirs

Citing Romans 8:16–17, we look at the reality that as Christians, we are children of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ. This means we have full access to the promises of God today, not just when we get to heaven.

“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” – Romans 8:16–17

During our conversation, we break down:

  • The Original Languages: We explore the rich meanings of the word “salvation” in both the Hebrew (Yeshua / yesha) and the Greek (soteria / sozo).
  • The Present Reality: True scriptural salvation isn’t just a future event—it covers active deliverance, protection, divine help, physical healing, and mental wholeness right now.

Referencing John 3:16–17 and John 10:10, we want to challenge you to go on a “treasure hunt” through the Word of God, search out these promises for yourself, and start boldly walking in God’s abundant life today.
