Good help is hard to find

Any business owner or manager knows the struggle: good help is hard to find. Finding team members who are consistent, even-tempered, and genuinely kind can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack.

But did you know that God experiences this exact same “labour shortage” in His Kingdom?

It’s true. Finding people who are completely steadfast and faithful is difficult, even for God Himself. Jesus spoke about this clearly:

“Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” – Matthew 9:37-38 (ESV)

He didn’t just notice a lack of general workers; He noticed a lack of enduring faith. In Luke 18:8, right after promising that God will bring justice to His people, Jesus asks a deeply sobering question:

“Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” – Luke 18:8 (ESV)

Whether you are working in the marketplace or serving in ministry, the underlying need is exactly the same. Let’s pray earnestly for good workers to be sent out into the world. More importantly, let’s look in the mirror and make sure that we are the faithful, consistent, and kind labourers that God is looking for today.
