Unlock the revolutionary power in your own words! In this powerful episode of Matt on a Mission, we dive deep into a life-changing principle that Jesus himself taught. Did you know that your words, combined with your faith, hold the potential for miraculous outcomes? Drawing from scriptures like Proverbs 18:21, which tells us death and life are in the power of the tongue, we explore how Jesus demonstrated this incredible power throughout his ministry. A prime example is when he cursed the fig tree and then taught his disciples how to use the same power of their words mixed with their faith.
We delve into Jesus’ direct teaching in Mark 11:22-24, where he instructs us to “Have faith in God,” which literally means “have the faith of God”.
This is the same kind of faith God used when He spoke everything into existence during creation – His words possessed His creative power and were perfectly joined with His perfect faith. It’s an unwavering, rock-solid belief.
Jesus goes on to say, “whoever says to this mountain be removed… and does not doubt in his heart but believes that those things he says will be done he will have whatever he says”. The “mountain” is a metaphor for any seemingly insurmountable problem in your life – debts, sickness, relationship issues.
The key is you must say it, speak it out, declare it! It requires your actual audible words working together with your faith to produce the miraculous.
This isn’t just a suggestion; it’s an actual promise from God. There is a direct, powerful connection between the faith in your heart and the words you speak.
When you genuinely believe in your heart without any doubt and speak words that align with that belief, those things will come to pass.
We share biblical examples like David facing Goliath, who first believed in his heart and then boldly confessed with his mouth what would happen. We also hear powerful personal testimonies of people who spoke healing over sickness or declared God’s promises over financial lack and witnessed miraculous breakthroughs.
Our words are powerful forces – they can either release the power of faith and bring God’s blessing or release doubt, fear, and unbelief, hindering God’s work.
This applies to every aspect of life, big or small. To put this principle into practice, you need to align your words, mind, and thinking with the Word of God.
Find His promises, write them down, and declare them boldly. Be mindful of your habitual speech, avoiding complaining and choosing instead to speak words of faith, hope, and victory that align with God’s promises.
Remember, you are made in the image of God, who created by speaking. You too have the ability to speak words that carry life or death. Choose life, choose faith, choose God’s word. Don’t let doubt or fear control your tongue.
If you stumble and speak wrong words, quickly repent, realign your thinking with God’s truth, and speak the truth instead. Don’t get discouraged; learn and grow. Believe in your heart, speak it out boldly in faith, and watch God move mightily in your life!
You can have what you say, so speak life, speak faith, and be blessed.
